Located in the centre of historic Windsor, Charsley Harrison LLP is a well-established commercial and private client firm. We are looking for a full time Legal Secretary to support our Residential Conveyancing Department.

The main responsibilities will be providing secretarial support to the Fee Earners, in addition to having the opportunity to assist with progressing conveyancing transactions. This role would be ideal for an experienced legal secretary or legal assistant looking to advance or progress within their legal career.

Charsley Harrison LLP is expanding, and we are looking for candidates committed to becoming an active member of our firm and residential conveyancing team. You must be pro-active, organised, results driven individual comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking direction.

Key Duties (including but not limited to the following):

  • Providing quotes on new instructions
  • Managing relationships with clients, solicitors and estate agents
  • Setting up new client ledgers, opening/closing files and case management administration
  • Drafting completion statements
  • Setting up exchanges and completions
  • Audio typing various dictated correspondence including emails, letters and attendance notes
  • Complete documents, forms and manage portals
  • Drafting contracts on a sale, per instructions/ supervision from the Fee Earner
  • Requesting HMLR documents via the portal
  • Sending HMLR applications
  • Payment of Stamp Duty
  • Applying for searches
  • General administrative duties to include photocopying

Requirements:

  • You will have experience of working as a secretary in residential conveyancing
  • Relevant legal qualifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised with attention to detail – a high level of accuracy is essential
  • Ability to manage a busy workload ensuring that files are managed effectively, meeting set deadlines, complying with precedents and drafting letters or documents on the case management system,
  • Professional in conduct and appearance at all times
  • Exemplary client care skills
  • Sound IT skills – experience of case management systems & Microsoft packages, especially Word and Excel. Full training on document management and practice management systems will be provided
  • Experienced in use of dictation software
